When I first encountered the Peregrine at CES in 2010, I wasn’t quite sure what to think. It certainly had the engineering and software quality of a high grade tool, but it was being used for gaming. Not just any type of gaming, but my favorite types of games – MMO’s, RPG’s, and RTS’s. It was an awesome combination of both worlds – kind of like a reflection of my very own life.

My name is Matt, and I work for an architecture firm. I’ve grown up with games all of my life and that interest pushed me to get a degree in game design and development. I understand a lot about taking games seriously, and conversely, having fun with work. I’ve been a competitive gamer for a few years now and had the chance to travel to some wonderful places as well as make some extra cash on the side. I love problem solving and working to achieve results, so gaming is a natural outlet for me in my free time. Anything that helps me while I’m on the job or gaming is simply amazing and the Peregrine miraculously does both.

I was worried at first about bringing the device into work. I knew my IT department was going to freak out, and I wasn’t sure how my co-workers would think. I already know that I’m cooler than them, but I don’t like to show off :)! It was a great experience though, as the engineers and drafters who I work with tried the glove out with some of their software tools and found it to be incredibly useful. I managed to recover my glove for a few quick games during lunch, and now I am constantly asked about when my office can get some more models for testing.

Being a gamer and a professional is a tough balance at times, but I love what I do and I make the most out of my life. I love it when I can find something that fits into all aspects of my life, as I’d say it is a very rare quality for something to be both fun and functional. I can honestly say that the Peregrine achieves this feat.

I like it for many reasons, including:

• The glove itself: it’s comfortable & durable
• The software: it’s easy to use & feature-rich
• Its compatibility: it works with all games & applications that support keyboard use
• The look: it’s cool & professional

I wish more things in life were this easy, but hey, I can’t complain. I’ve found a good balance in my life and I’m glad to see a product out there that can help make other people’s lives a bit easier as well.
